This is right on Rick, very much describes the process I’m going through. I’m still not settled, but I know what parts of the old me are gone forever and I’m starting to see how I want to shape my life.
I wonder the same thing Rick. It occurred to me this morning that during the “career phase” we always have an implied direction—upward, more, better—even if the ultimate goal is a little different. But post-career, our path is so much more open, our field so much broader. I’m watching my kids play the career development game and just recognizing what a different path they’re on.
I like how you vividly describe the process of changing. It applies not only to work/job but to any change in life. Great writing! I enjoyed listening to your reading as well.

Yeah, I'm not completely there (to a new place) either and wonder sometimes if I will ever be.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your input.

Thanks for your feedback!
90% of this came to me in a rush of creative inspiration/emotion that I was able to get on paper all at once.
Interesting piece, Rick, thanks for sharing :)
